Client

My Fitness Advisor is a local fitness finder and independent review service. It aims to make finding fitness and health services as simple as possible and encourage people to begin a journey into healthy living.

When the founder approached us, he had a clear vision of the project with a firm set of ideals and values that he wanted his brand to represent. The client came up with the idea for the business after struggling to find a meditation class to combat the stress of university. His frustration and the extra stress it caused meant the client was extremely passionate about delivering this project. 

It was imperative for the client to feel comfortable with the team he was trusting to deliver his idea. We quickly developed a good relationship, and the client was excited to see his project come to life.

The Brief

The team was tasked with creating a brand strategy that portrayed the company’s core values of trust and transparency through friendly but professional content. The client requested that we deliver a marketing plan for the first year of the start-up. This included complete website design and management, brand and logo creation, SEO, complete social media oversight, and a range of blogs centred around physical and mental health, sustainability, and combatting misinformation.

Part of My Fitness Advisor’s vision was to establish a community that shared in their values and ideals. It was therefore important that our marketing plan and social media strategy was focused on forming this community and incorporated ideas that could bring people together while adding value to their target market.

Our Approach

Brand Identity & Web Design

Our first focus was to design a Logo and brand identity to convey the values of trust and transparency. We diligently researched colour psychology to establish a colour scheme that suited the company’s ideals. After assessing the feelings evoke by various colours, we decided that blue was most suited to our client’s needs. Blue is often associated with trust and calmness, this links directly to the brand’s values, while calmness re-enforces the company’s hassle-free mantra.
 
It was essential for the website to be simple to navigate to save users time and energy. However, it needed the requisite information to allow customers to make an informed choice when choosing a health and fitness service. Therefore, striking the right balance between simplicity and information was key.

The logo design features five gold stars to reflect the brands review system and a custom designed ‘R’ reflecting on the brands passion for the fitness industry.

Marketing & Social Media

Our marketing vision focused on establishing and adding value to the community aspect of My Fitness Advisor. As the business was initially launching in Bournemouth, we placed the local area front and centre and created a bespoke campaign that felt relatable for local users. Equally, our campaign features Bournemouth-centric information, and we regularly encourage interaction between their social media followers.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

We implemented a clear SEO strategy tailored to the Bournemouth area. To achieve this, we undertook extensive research on the local setting to identify what people were searching for. By doing so, we were able to implement a range of longtail keywords designed to guarantee our client stands out against their competitors and to ensure their traffic was coming from their target market.

Our team continues to research and produce a variety of blogs. These focus on general industry content relating to the client’s vision and specific articles centred around the local facilities and services. By producing industry-related blogs, we aim to familiarise those outside the local area with My Fitness Advisor. This ensures that when the company expands to other locations, it will already have a consumer base that knows and trusts the brand.

Results

Despite the client launching amid the Covid-19 pandemic, when many health and fitness facilities and services have been inaccessible, My Fitness Advisor has experienced significant, and consistent, traffic. As per the graphic below, shortly after launching, the website was making up to 35,000 impressions per month with over 2000 profile visits.  Over 100 reviews have been registered on the website, and have established business connections with 55 other companies.

I would recommend Floom Creative as a great marketing agency, particularly for SME’s. It can be daunting entering the market as a new company but they provided help strategically in all area’s from concept to delivery. Harvey and Fin were always willing to hop on a call to discuss ideas and plan ahead. We now have a brilliant foundation from which to grow, and I’m excited for the future!
